The Golden Triangle!

I was lucky enough to get an invite out to the 'Golden Triangle' in central Victoria. This area is known for BIG nuggets, I mean kilos of gold! It has been on my bucket list for quite some time now.

I joined up with my friend Rick and his PMAV (Prospecting Mining Association Victoria) for a day and a half of swinging the Equinox 600. I learnt so much in such a short time from people who have dug up multi ounce pieces of gold.

I was amazed at the hospitality of the group, immediately welcoming me into the fold and showing me some mind blowing finds. I wasn't there for 20 minutes and got to hold a 14ozt nugget found not to far away.

Due to the dangers posed to the prospectors who find such large nuggets by other people I did not film several of the more recent find and kept the identity's of those individuals off camera.

Instead I focused on the Equinox's performance next to the best gold detectors on the market, such as the GPZ7000. I was genuinely surprised at the performance!

BAZOOKA GOLD TRAP SLUICE "MINER" FINDING GOLD!

Running the Bazoka Gold Trap "Miner" on the Little north Fork Santiam River in Oregon finding some gold. The water was extremely high, so we were very limited on where we could dig and set up the sluice. You will notice the water pulsing in the sluice, which didn't seem to affect recovery, but it was annoying and clogged the grizzlies at times. The water dropped about 6 inches throughout the day, which further complicated the running of the sluice. We would have loved an inch or two more water on the top of the sluice and a more steady flow, but we made it work great with what we were given. We found one nice piece that rolled in the pan, very thick and round. Also got a decent flake. Not much gold total for the day. We were digging in water in both places we dug at, and we were well out of the channel up on the edge of the bank. looking forward to going back when the water level is more favorable - we have some spots to dig that look very promising.

Zip Line Gold Mining: Ancient river bed material quickly drops to the highbanker down at the river

www.moderngoldminer.com Zip Line Gold Mining Buckets Of Ancient River Bed Material Quickly Drops To The Highbanker Below My buddy and I found some bench gravel 40 to 50 feet up the mountain from the river. We could see where some of the old miners tunneled into the side of the mountain to chase the placer gold. What we saw was a pretty remarkable site. Rocks the size of small cars, just hanging in suspension in the hard pack ancient streambed. It's always good to find virgin ground for prospecting. The old miners obviously dug tunnels to chase the placer, but it's really cool to see that untouched stream bed. We had a great time and look forward to returning. This area belongs to a lifelong friend of mine, who has not only the private property to this land, but a patented mining claim without expiration. We are forever grateful for him. We figured the best way to get the "buckets of gold" down the mountain and across the river was a zip line. Brilliant idea, (my friends, not mine). Worked incredibly well. Twenty First Century bucket line mining. Thanks for watching ☺

More highbanking for gold with our homemade dredge/highbanker combo.

Running some material from a claim we have access to. Not as much gold as we would like to see come out of material that looked this good, but gold none the less. Highbanker function seems to be working well.

First run with the Proline Big Banker ~ Gold Mining Wash Plant "Highbanker"

www.moderngoldminer.com Proline gold mining high banker washplant; they just call it the "Big Banker". With Honda's 9 HP engine, and HP 500 gallon per minute pump, this unit moves a ton of material; literally. 15 guys shoveling cannot overwhelm this power sluice; it's a complete gravel hog. The hopper opening size is 23" x 31" inches. The first sequence was shot using the case 580c backhoe; this was the first time the high banker was setup. The second, just a couple of us working in a different area... This wash plant lets you use either a small bucket on a backhoe, mini excavator, or a lot of guys with shovels and buckets. If the gold is there, you will find it!

testing our new sluice, in the frigid waters of clear creek, (thanks "red" for the great location).

Comparing Two Gold Sluices

Nugget and I compare a riffle sluice to a drop trap sluice. We find some South Carolina gold in the process. Thunderstorms chased us away after two hours at the creek. You will have to make your own decision which works best. Thanks for watching. We appreciate our subscribers!
