Lead and stuff found, from Gold Dredging.

This is a collation of the dramatic change in the gravel bar after a big storm. As you can see the gravel bar and rocks sticking up acted like a sluice box grabbing the gold. Great place for a high banker or a dredge.
Prospecting with Turbopan
Finding real gold on a creek bend using Turbopan. The downstream inside bank of the bend is a good place to find gold. Flood gold occurs in the upper layers and the larger gold pieces are down deeper.

The Keene 140 Drywasher
This is the first time setting up and running the new Keene 140 Drywasher. It's used for gravity washing gold from shovel fulls of dirt without the use of water. Once run through this machine the remainder of the material is cleaned up using a regular pan and water.

Using mini Turbopan for prospecting
We were up in the South Palmer on a mates lease and tested the inside bend of a creek. Only about 14 inches down to bedrock. Good fine gold there got quickly and easily with turbopan. Clays a bit of a problem

Nevada Prospecting
My friend Pete and I finally got together for some prospecting at the Queen Canyon area. I can tell you the name now because I have tested the entire place and there is not much in the way of gold there. But it's an itch I have wanted to scratch for over a decade and finally got it done. We had a great time though. The scenery was fantastic as were the stars at night. It seemed like we had the whole world to ourselves out there. In this first part we start high up at an elevation of about 8600 feet. After running material through the dry washer most of the day we headed down to start getting dinner ready. Me, drywashing for gold at the old Coolgardie Mining Camp - Just North of Barstow, California 3
Short clip of me showing the basics of how a dry washer works. There's a lot of history here and some nice gold flakes can still be found here (but most of this area is claim up - if you join a gold prospecting club that owns claims here, like the GPAA, then you can mine here) Gold was first discovered in easily obtainable deposits in the Mojave Desert around 1900, and a small settlement of several hundred miners soon sprang up. Coolgardie was named after the rich western Australian mining town that became large and famous both for its wealth and rough nature. Mexican miners coming from the Gold Rush up north worked this area for a while and then it was worked again during the Great Depression. California's Coolgardie never reached the same status, although it was one of the few placer mining districts in the desert. When the gold ran out after just a few short years, there was nothing in this desolate place to entice its residents to stay. Gradually the wooden structures crumbled, and today little remains except some rusted cans and piles of lumber where buildings used to stand. Coolgardie is 19 miles north of Barstow, and it is necessary to drive along a narrow dirt road to reach it. Visitors should exercise extreme caution because many mining shafts have not been filled in and a fall would leave a victim stranded in the middle of the desert.

Got some nice gold sampling with a dry washer at the oldest known gold mining district in California (So. Cal.) - 'The Potholes', this was worked long before the California Gold Rush! This location discovered in the 1700's (although probably worked sooner than this by the Indians) I am a member of the SPMA Gold Prospecting Club who owns these claims. (Very) Short Trip #4: Gold Panning in the Rain
For best picture watch in 720pHD! Was a short trip but I had a good time. I made this video today when I took a quick trip out to do some panning in the rain. Was quite happy with the take even though there wasn't much chunky. I also went and panned at a 2nd creek with good results but that video will be for another upcoming video. It worked real good as a dredge and a highbanker. I wanted a all in one machine so I mounted the water pump in the top center (It was very stable and worked great). I beleave I can make it work a lot better.I built this dredge by just looking at pitchers, and since I have used it I have a lot of new ideas to improve efficiency, and make it more user friendly. These designs I am working on can be used on any dredge, highbanker, or creek sluice.

Running my high banker on a gold claim. My brother got us a nice patch of paydirt to have a go at. This is the first time I have run my high banker and will make some modifications as I'm not totally happy with the results, could have been much better. Still it was a lot of fun and I did expect I would learn things from the performance. We got 0.4 grammes of gold for about 6 hours work... don't give up your day job!

I just go out and test spots with my sluice before I run any type of production run on it. I am going to run production on it tomorrow. Funny thing is I believe I did this test last winter. But now I have a highbanker to see if it's worth it.. Just from the flakes of gold in my pan shows me it is good enough to run.

I love this sluice. It really make prospecting so much easier. Im still tired when I get done, but I'm tired from moving dirt, not from classifying. The arm with the jets is great cause it moves, so you can take a big rock or a chunk of bedrock and wash it. I got a quarter gram of gold in 4 hours. That is a good day for me. The trip before this we got half a gram of gold with it. I would have gotten more this trip if i wasn"t so distracted by my metal detector. lol

[ISRAEL] "HaSheket SheNish'ar" - Shiri Maimon (Karaoke Version)
"HaSheket SheNish'ar" (Hebrew: השקט שנשאר, lit. The Silence that Remains) was the Israeli entry in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005, performed in Hebrew and English by Shiri Maimon. Working bedrock in a wash with a gas powered vacuum in the Imperial county desert
Down on the Cargo claim working in a small arroyo. We dug down about 12 inches through rock and gravel to get to bedrock. I am using a gas powered vacuum (vac pac) to remove the material from the bedrock. We classifed down to #4 and ran about 8 buckets through the drywasher. We got some really nice color for the small amount of material we ran, but it was a lot of work! I guess if it was easy, gold wouldnt be $1750 an ounce! New Age Mining Equipment, LDMA Stanton camp New Year's outing
We volunteered the use of our Eliminator Reverse Helix Gold Trommel, model #AU-170, in the common dig operation at the LDMA Stanton Camp, December 2012/ January 2013. Since the outing staff pans the concentrates and divides the gold between the participants, we were not able to get very good shots of the gold. So we added a little extra footage of the delivery and set up for one of our Customers in Alabama. Dec2012 A casual couple of hours shovelling. For Rick and Matt a first time experiance. I included 2 clips to show where the riffle box really belongs. 'Technical': (Bearing in mind, to me it is all just an enjoyable doodling hobby.) All made out of scrap from around the workshop. Sluice box: 900mm long, made out of roofing-iron grade flat; Riffles 127*22*22mm with 30mm gap; Sides 100mm high, allow 10mls to turn over at the top. The other Plaything: First that sluice box really works. I keep panning the tailings; 'no' gold. Anyway it is so easy to dig a couple of shovelfuls near the end and put it through again at the end of a run. Of course its efficiency is governed by the art of getting the angle right for the boiling effect between the riffles. The size of it was designed to cater for a 5 HP driven pump * 2 inch lay flat hose * ¾ inch jet nozzle to be washed over the 3/8 inch punch plate (from a log fire flue protector). The outlet pipe under the screen into the riffle box has a '1/2 baffle' to cater for the surge.

2 Inch Dredge
Jan2013: IMHO If you are new to gold fossicking/prospecting, and thinking about a dredge ... you will have things to consider. This video shows a well made, dear little model which is designed to hoover sand and a little bigger off creases and cracks in rocks. Here is a good demo: www.youtube.com If you want to process gravel with this size unit make sure you order the high-banker attachment with it. For a rule of thumb measurement the 'hole' you see here by the chair took a full tank of petrol to make and the 'bigger' stones near the chair had to be handled away from the intake. Good luck

This is a brand new dredge D & K is building! The 4" Over & Under flared aluminum sluice box and the riffles are made of steel that are gold zinc plated with expanded metal on the top layer and for the lower level, it has all expanded metal so all the fine gold and material will be caught.
