Sled Dogs & Gold Panning

Enter our monthly contest to win cool prizes to help you find more treasure. February's prize is a Garrett Pin Pointer! Enter and get details at: highplainsprospectors.com This is a work/quick prospecting trip. We own a dog boarding facility in Olathe, KS that occasionally takes in needy animals. In this situation a long time client of ours had some unfortunate family issues which meant she had to forego her dogs. We found the first one a home but Juneau can be a bit of a handful and it took quite some time to find a perfect fit for her. In this circumstance we decided to place her with a breed specific rescue organization that will prepare them to be placed in a home specifically for sled dogs. This was a perfect fit for her. During the trip Scrap Iron and Jason get to go out and do a quick bit of prospecting for gold with their suction dredge, sluice, box and gold pan. The creek was frozen over, but they made due with the conditions they had and got out into the creek a bit to poke around and look for some gold. Although they only found a couple very fine pieces, at least they got out to do it.
